James Neville

James S. Neville was born Sept 11 1822 in Tyrone County Ireland. He traveled to Liverpool England where he boarded the ship Jersey, arriving in New York 16 Sept 1851.

James married Margaret Duncan daughter of Samuel and Jannetta Duncan 16 Oct 1853 and lived in Delaware co. PA. The first four of their children were born there George Richard, Samuel Elliot, James Allen and Alfred Duncan Neville. Abt 1861 they packed up and moved to Jubilee twp., Peoria co., IL.. Children born in Jubilee were Janet Elizabeth, Atwood Pierce, Frances Ann, Margaret and Edward Blain. Janet and Edward died at a young age. There is a marker for Janet (Jannet) and I would imagine that at one time there was one for Edward.

After Edwards death the family moved to Taylor Co., IA. James died 23 Dec 1908 and Martha 04 Apr 1892. Both of their bodies were taken back and buried in the Church Yard Cemetery in Jubilee.

Samuel, James, Alfred and Frances continued to live in Taylor Co.IA.. Goerge went to Kansas, Atwood went to California and Margaret went to TX.
